What is your question?
Sounds like the noise is coming from the front end, perhaps the manifold. Not exactly sure, hoping it's the muffler, I don't really want to spend a lot of $$$$$$ to repair it. If it is the front end, from the manifold, I could probably live with noise, and rumble of the engine. Starting to sound like those old Honda civics from the 90s. There are no warning lights on the dashboard, and the car, other than the noise problem, runs excellent. No leaks, no burning oil, car is in great shape for this year, and very reliable, just changed the timing belt and water pump last year. Only other problem is the AC doesn't work do to a seized pulley.
What makes this problem better or worse?
After the car warms up and I've driven it a few kilometers seems to get a little quieter. Maybe cause the car is moving.
How long has your 2006 Hyundai Elantra had this problem?
A few months
