What is involved in changing the water pump on this car? This is the first thing I had go wrong on this car since new.

You have to remove the timing belt to get to the water pump, getting the timing belt right is critical because if the timing gets off synch, the valves and pistons collide and severly damage the engine. This should be done by an experienced mechanic. You should also install a new timing belt at this time and check that the cam and crank oil seals aren't leaking and check the timing belt tensioner. I checked and the water pump is about $80, the timing belt is about $45 and the labor is about 3.2 hrs which at $100/hr is $320. It'sll be more if it needs oil seals or a tensioner.
