My steering wheel is locked and my key does not work. I need to locate the steering wheel lock

The steering wheel lock is normally part of the ignition lock cylinder. The key has to turn a certain amount to release the wheel. Sometimes the wheel gets into a bind because the front tires are pushed up against the curb or parking stop.
