What is your question?
I have a 2015 Hyundai Accent with a 1.6ltr 4-cyl engine. I was driving on the highway, and it started ticking rather loudly. No warning lights came on. I took the vehicle to the dealership. They diagnosed it as: “Internal Noise Detected. Stored DTC P0011 Camshaft timing over advanced. During engine system inspection found the vehicle low on engine coolant. Low engine coolant can cause the engine to run hotter and cause engine failure” In my research of this code there is no mention of engine coolant being a symptom of the problem, most information is around engine oil which is fine. The fluid was topped off within the last 6 months at the previous oil change. There are no coolant leaks, the car never overheated, nor is there a low engine coolant light on. The vehicle is under full powertrain warranty and the dealership is quoting me just north of $7,000.00 to fix. Just looking for opinions on what to do next. This doesn’t sound reasonable to me. Thank you- Chris
How long has your 2015 Hyundai Accent had this problem?
4 weeks but I parked the car and drove it to the dealership only.
