What is your question?
I have ad a number of time where while driving the lights suddenly shut off dash lights head lights and brake lights car will not go into park! after a while the lights will come back on and the car will once again shift. also after parking it and then attempting to leave when i start the car the lights will not go on and it will be stuck in park not allowing me to shift into drive again after waiting for a little while it will once again shift as if nothing it wrong with it. this happened one night while my son was on his way home from work at midnight the lights cut out on a dark highway and he was scared to death to finish the drive home. This is not safe at all. I bought it a few months ago figuring it had low miles for it being an 01 great price but to find out it may be a death trap. After researching I determined it is one of these culprits or at least I hope I am on the right track. A/T shift and key lock control module park position switch A/T shift lock solenoid any help would be greatly appreciated before someone dies..

I am looking into something similar. What I can tell you so far. If you open and drop your glove box with the pins on each side, you will see a plug on the right. That is the plug that powers the shift lock solenoid. track the wiring if its not the plug it self.
strange I had just taken a picture of this part as I had removed the glove box and unsecured this box (module, switch) replaced it with a used one, (maybe defective) while attempting to resolve an issue with the heater switch which only blows on high, i guess i should secure it or find the old one and put it back in it seems if someone slams the door all seems to function fine so maybe the fact it is not bolted down is the main problem.. so I will bolt it in place and see what happens... thank you and of course this was a operator error not thinking that it just hanging there was the cause of the problem.. but thankfully it is not a shorted wire issue I hate when that happens... best to you and thanks for bringing this to may attention.
Happy I could help. From what I can tell there is wires behind the solenoid switch which are ground wires. They go behind the little box. As far as your heater fan goes... You're in the right area. On the fan or blower motor, there is a plug for the motor and a plug for the switch. Bigger plug for the switch smaller plug for the fan motor. You may only have one plug. unplug the switch, remove the screws on each side. You should be able to pull out the switch control card module. Find a new or used part and replace it. That should solve that one.
thank you again for this information I will get to it as soon as the weather warms up then the only other issue i have is with a evap code for a small leak I replaced the gas cap and then the solenoid it didnt change anything so next in line i figured the canister will have the casual issue as it gets fairly rusty being so close to the ground i tested all the vaccum lines for leaks and they check out so the only thing left is the canister correct? i am really not great at troubleshooting but i can get around a car fairly well.. any help with troubleshooting for me is extremely welcome/.. ;-)
Now that your little box is secured in the glove box does the car go into park securely? I'm asking because there is a place to adjust if needed. Let me know. Your small leak evap code could be the canister. Most likely is the flex pipe just after the O2 sensor on the exhaust close to the front of the car. You can cut it off, buy a replacement at a local parts store with some clamps and you should be good to go. exhaust pipe diameter is 1.75. Just a little tip, make sure you measure how much you want to cut off so the new flex pipe takes up the same amount of room after its installed. Leave yourself enough room beside the O2 sensor to be able to install the flex pipe with enough room for the clamp. More you can keep of the existing exhaust pipe the better. Discard the old flex pipe with the whole in it. install the new flex pipe with clamps. There can not be any leaks. You may have to add putty like spider patch for example or get it welded. You may need to change your O2 sensor at the flex pipe or one the manifold or both. A good indication would be how long its been like that and the code you get from the scan. Check it out first its worth it.
