Why don't I have power?

What is your question?

when I attempt to start car it makes a click and I lose all power if I undo the neg. battery connection and reconnect power is returned but will not start and clicks again withj loss of power..windows, lights, door buzzer etc

Could be a bad battery or corroded cables because a battery with one bad cell will still run some items but won't have enough amps to engage the starter, You can have the battery load tested at any parts store
