What is your question?
I took my car into a trusted auto repair shop. They gave me a P0430 Check Engine Light Code and said I need a new catalytic converter. The initial cause of bringing in the car was a check engine light and an abnormal engine noise. I took it to the dealership (because I was told about the Catalytic Converter Federal Warranty). The dealer responded with their own diagnosis that new fuel injectors and a high pressure fuel pump would solve the issue. I brought the P0430 code to their attention, and they basically ignored it and said it wasn't a problem. Should I get a third opinion? Something isn't adding up. The dealership (Germain Honda in Dublin, Ohio) has been incredibly unhelpful in explaining whats wrong and why there suggestion of the fix would work.

Hello, Honda has diagnostic procedures and service bulletins that specifically speak to the concerns you are having. It could well be the case that your "trusted" shop may not have the correct answer because they are not factory trained Honda technicians with Honda technical resources for a really - still fairly new - 2019 Pilot. I cannot currently see the service bulletin, but often times a P0430 is not an inefficient or ineffective catalyst - but instead a situation where fuel is getting to the cylinders in high volumes that cannot be reduced by a converter. You can certainly take your vehicle to another Honda dealership for another opinion, but I would definitely say that they are probably in the best position to address your concerns - in this particular case.
Also - talk to the service manager of the dealership to get the satisfaction you need.
