What is your question?
Synthetic OC and then went approx 2k miles and light indicated 15%. Went back and mechanic said they never reset button so topped off oil and said “go by mileage on sticker”. Now car indicates I need immediate oil change and mechanic claims it cannot be reset without it resetting to 100%. So, my dashboard is indicating that my car needs immediate attention and I’m just told to “go by the mileage on the sticker” from the initial oil change. I’ve watched YouTube videos how to reset and it’s not working. Any suggestions?

Hi this is Dusty, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team. That sounds like a frustrating, albeit simple issue. In my experience the maintenance reminder resets can be a bit finicky from time to time. Here's what I've found for your vehicle: 1- Turn the ignition on (Key On, Engine Off) 2- Use the Sel/Reset button on the steering wheel until you see the oil life displayed in the multi-information display in the instrument cluster 3- Press & Hold the Sel/Reset button for at least 10 seconds 4- The oil life reset mode will be displayed in the instrument cluster 5- Select Reset using the up & down arrow buttons on the steering wheel, then press the Sel/Reset button. 6- The service code will disappear, and the oil life should return 100% If you have any questions, give us a call at (877) 913-1554
