What is your question?
I had recommended routine maintenance done on my 2014 pilot when it hit 100k. They replaced the timing belt, spark plugs, and did something with a valve (tightening)? It took longer than they estimated, they kept the car overnight to finish the next day and I had to take a loaner car home. When I left the shop with the car it did something weird within the hour and as I was merging it didn’t want to accelerate. I made it to the shoulder as the engine shut off. It wouldn’t restart right away but after a few tries/minutes it did restart. The check engine light was not on at this point, but appeared on the way back to the shop. Dealer says it’s saying both catalytic converters are now bad and that they don’t know why it stalled..they reset it and told me to drive around a while. It goes on and off all the time. Is it possible that they caused it with the work they performed? Seems like too much of a coincidence. I also lost 3 lights one brake light, a headlight and an interior light.
What makes this problem better or worse?
I can’t find a pattern

Hello, if you had no previous concern prior to the maintenance performed, it would seem quite apparent that whatever was done during the maintenance service would most certainly affect the outcome here. I do not agree that catalytic converters are the source of your lack of power and stall. Based on your loyalty,. i'd ask the dealership to go to bad for you with American Honda to have the catalytic converters replaced as a goodwill gesture. Truthfully. This doesn't seem anywhere near reasonable. And i'm not sure it could even happen in such a short stretch of time. Another idea would be to take your vehicle to a competing Honda dealership for a second opinion. A final thought is to consult the service manager or general manager of the Honda dealership for personal attention to the matter. If I had my vehicle in to a Honda dealership to have a Minder 4 service completed (the 100,000 mile service you mentioned), and it left doing that, i'd be quite upset. By the way: I am the parts and service director of a Honda dealership today. Wishing you luck.
