Steering wheel locked, ignition won't turn

Hello, and thank you, for responding. I am old school, and believed I wasn't going to work on cars anymore, I was wrong. Anyway I have had the car taken into a shop, I live in the desert next to a marine base so options are small. After taking it in I should have just ordered the part, plus I new . the key was wearing down, should know in a few days. .
