I own a 2007 Honda Pilot It is making a "clunk" when I go over a speed bump and sometimes when I stop. Before I take it in to a shop can anyone tell me what it might be and a guesstimate on the cost to repair. Honda has 147,000 miles
What is your question?
2007 Honda Pilot I am hearing a "clunk" coming from the rear back passenger side of the car when I go over a bump or braking.
What makes this problem better or worse?
braking or speed bumps
How long has your 2007 Honda Pilot had this problem?
RepairPal Certified shops can diagnose and repair your 2007 Honda Pilot. They provide transparent pricing with a minimum 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on repairs and services.
The best way to accurately be able to determine the cause of the noise and to give an estimate based on the determination would be to make an appointment to have the vehicle inspected and diagnosed. To do that over the phone would be guess work as far as the cause and the cost. We would be happy to set up an appointment for you.
Hi. Yes I have an appointment and am hoping that the spare tire is loose. I just wasn't sure if the shocks or struts could be a possibility. I just don't want to be taken advantage of by the dealership. Thank you for your response. Nancy
Yes, it could be the shocks and/or struts, like Michaels said, the only way to know is have it diagnosed by a professional shop. you don't have to have repairs done at that time, find out what is wrong then get a second or third opinion on cost and make a decision based on how comfortable you are with any given repair facility. there are many honest repair shops, find one and stick with them. they get to know you and your car and can provide peace of mind about repairs & maintenance.
