What is your question?
My boyfriend (who is a mechanic) did a complete brake job on my 2007 Honda Pilot. Immediately following it started making what I would call a clunking or banging while braking. He thinks it may be bad motor mounts and is ordering parts but after reading some online I’m not sure. Although it does have more bounce than it used to and the motor does rock a fair amount when revving or braking. But it only makes the noise when braking. It does not when braking in reverse though. The braking feels smooth enough and there is no vibration in the peddle. Just a horrible, rhythmic thud. Does not matter the speed, it’s anytime the brake is pressed. Before all this there was a faint thump when going over a bump but no other sounds. My boyfriend took the brakes apart and made sure everything was in there right, etc. But couldn’t find anything wrong with the pads, rotors or calipers. Other info: it is only in the front and seems to be coming more from the passenger side. Thanks!
What makes this problem better or worse?
It’s every time braking
How long has your 2007 Honda Pilot had this problem?
Since brakes replaced

Hello, when you say "rhyhmic thud" does the noise continue with the speed of the wheels as they slow? Or is it a single thud? If there is a noise only when the brake is pressed, and this started only after the brake job, then there simply must be a concern with proper part fitment, installation, anti-rattle clip positioning, caliper slides or something else. It's way too hard to guess without hands on inspection. Sure, a shock absorber, compliance bushing or motor mount could make noise, but this would be a single noise, not a rhythmic continual noise. I'd suggest getting another opinion, no disrepsect intended to your boyfriend! But sometimes fresh eyes can see something that you've been staring at without success for a while. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554. Thanks for the reply! The thud continues to the speed of the wheels. We’re thinking of switching the new pads out for Honda brand pads. If it still continues I’m probably gonna have to take it in.
