Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Pilot. It sounds like you're dealing with a persistent issue that can be pretty frustrating. Since you've replaced the axle seal multiple times and the leak reappears after a test drive, there are a few possibilities to consider. Firstly, the axle itself might be worn or damaged, causing it not to seat properly in the seal, leading to leaks. Excessive axle play in the transmission could definitely be a contributing factor. A worn axle shaft or CV joint can introduce movement compromising the seal's effectiveness. Secondly, ensure the seal is the correct type and size for your axle. Sometimes, using a part that is just slightly different can cause improper sealing, especially under load when the vehicle is moving. Additionally, using the correct seal installer is essential to prevent damage during installation. Finally, ensure the vent of the transmission is clear. A clogged transmission vent can cause excess pressure to build in the transmission case, forcing fluid past the seals. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
