My 2003 honda pilot wont start it has power and trys to start but wont catch I believe its the fuel pump but could the air filter cause this issue?

It sounds like it wants to start and It may have had signs before today and I didn't really notice... like having trouble starting it but I figured it was just me being new to the truck and it has over 226,000 miles
What makes this problem better or worse?
