Front seat repair

What is your question?

I recently took out my front seat to get a bracket welded. When installing it back, I grabbed the threaded rod covered with a black plastic tube that moves the seat back and forth. I pulled it completely out, I have tried to fix it, to no avail. Any experience with this thing?
