A catalytic converter that has failed will not properly process engine exhaust gases, creating more pollution in our environment. As a result, it should be repaired. Additionally, engine performance components may be affected by the readings obtained by the oxygen sensors of the exhaust system. This can cause too much fuel to be run through the engine, eventually causing engine damage. If you know there's a problem, resolve it. There are no "optional" repairs on a vehicle. They were built for a purpose and all components work with others. Use this link to find some shops near you that can help with your concern: www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
