What is your question?
The alternator will not charge the battery most of the time. Then I will have sometimes where the alternator will just start working. I have check the fuse. It was good I still changed it. I have had the positive lead cable changed also. I had the alternator checked 3 times before I took it to Honda 1 out of the 3 times I actually took the alternator off the van and brought it to a part store to have it tested on their tester. All them times everyone said it was good. But as soon as I take it to Honda they run the expensive computer test they tell me it is the alternator. I am thinking how can that be? Does anyone have any ideas??

your alternator will not charge a discharged battery. the battery is for starting your vehicle, then the alternator takes over sending voltage to all components and only maintains the charge to your battery. you can test the output of your alternator yourself with a volt meter. a fully charged battery should have around 12.6 volts at the battery terminals with the vehicle off, then with it running the voltage at the battery terminals should be 13.5-15.0 volts DC,this is your alternator output..14.2 is ideal.
When it is not started it is at 12.5 DC. But when I start it is 12.2DC
The alternator is toast! if you/dealer/shop have checked the wiring to the alternator and no wires are split/cut/shorting to ground and all wiring connections are clean, shiny, not broken, tight, connected, including grounds, then the alternator is bad,UNLESS your alternator is computer controlled, which I can't remember on that one?
