The motor whines and then the latch pops as the door opens. Some times it will whine and fail to open. There are times it works as it should but I'd like it fixed. The part cost is about $400.00 from what I searched on GOOGLE but what's the TOTAL repair cost with labor and where do I go to get it done? The videos I looked at on youtube on how to replace the motor assembly looks like more than I want to tackle on my own. I thank you for any help you can give me.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It happens when ever it wants. Cold or hot weather.
How long has your 2007 Honda Odyssey had this problem?
On and off for a couple years but it apears to be getting worse.

Hello, these mechanism are not simple to work on, and should absolutely have a professional evaluation. Often times, we find that the run channels that the door slides on are filled with debris and a lack of proper lubrication over time. Clearing and cleaning and lubing this is an important first step. Additionally, there are multiple components at play here, and a good inspection and assessment should be done before replacing parts based on guesswork.
