Changed EGR Valve How Long for Check Engine light to Go Out?

The EGR valve failing is not as common a problem as the passage ways in the intake manifold getting restricted and clogged up with carbon. It's best to reset the check engine light with a scan tool but disconnecting the battery for a few minutes will erase all memory and turn off the Check Engine light, make sure you have radio security code prior to removing battery connection.
