Looks like our 2012 Insight is likely to have oil consumption issues, starting shortly after the warranty expires. We are due for that in about 2500 miles. What can we do about it before?

Take the vehicle to a Honda dealer and tell them your concern. If you are still in warranty they may start an oil consumption test. If the results come back that the vehicle is consuming oil, after the warranty has expired, they should honor the warranty. You should make sure you can verify oil changes were performed as stated in the owner's manual. How much oil it consuming? Most likely the dealer will tell you a quart consumed every 1,000 to 1,200 mile is normal. Good luck!
