What is your question?
My Fit was a brand new car, currently has 34,108 miles on it. I had a mobile brake job yesterday afternoon where the technician came and jacked up the car. He ended up just cleaned the front brake pads and the brake shoes, saying that it was very dirty, and ensure the noise would be gone. He then tested drive my car; the rear tires had abnormal noise (sound who-whoo) when he brakes, he then jacked up the vehicle again and used a flat to tighten up the shoes (he pressed down the little metal part for 23-26 times, then he turned the circular metal to feel the tightness. He told me the job was called axle cleaning/shoe adjustments, charged me $79. I didn’t move my car at all, but when I came out from work, I noticed that there is loud noise (wreak-wreak) from the bottom rear - it sounds like a 600lb-person sitting in the car, pressing down, and the vehicle can’t stand the weight… I’m super worried about the noise. Can anyone help? What is wrong with my car? Thank you in advance!

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! First off, amazing onomatopoeias! The noise from the bottom rear of your car sounds like it could be an issue with the rear brake shoes or drum adjustment. If the technician adjusted the brake shoes too tightly, they can rub against the drum, making a creaking or grinding noise when the car moves or when weight shifts. Try driving gently and braking a few times to see if the noise improves as the brakes settle in. If it doesn’t or worsens, have the technician return. They might need to re-adjust the brake shoes to ensure they're not too tight. Let’s get that noise sorted out so you can drive without worry!
