Red Security light won't Turn off

What is your question?

The blinking red security system light on my 2007 Honda Fit Sport comes on when it is supposed to. It seems that it is now staying on indefinitely, until I unlock the car. Is this a problem?

What makes this problem better or worse?

Nothing seems to change it.

How long has your 2007 Honda Fit had this problem?

Noticed it about an hour ago, but it could have happened before. Talked to my mechanic and did a test or two.
