Cruise control quit no light on main button by left knee

If the "main" switch does not turn on, then there is a fault within the system. Could be the brake cut off switch or something with the sliding contact / cable reel or switches on the steering wheel. You'll need a diagnostic tool to help determine the cause of the concern.
