My honda crx feels like it sputters and loses power then it picks up again .

I bought the car a while back , it was driving really good till recently , I did change the oil spark plugs and just changed the gas filter ,it is running a little better but still haven't got rid of the puttering completely , now it happens most when I'm at a complete stop and sometimes as I'm driving it comes and goes !!! Any suggestions ?
