Fuel Induction?

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. American Honda will tell you that a fuel induction service is not a necessary service - unless prescribed by a diagnosed concern. However, in my experience, I have seen extreme carbon buildup on these direct injected turbo charge to engine engines. Assuming you have a 1.5 L turbo charged four-cylinder engine in your CR-V. A fuel induction service serves to clean the combustion chamber. When performed properly, it has incredible benefits. Honda doesn't say it's required, and there is no real Check Balance to verify that what you're doing is helpful. But I have seen carbon buildup on valves affect engine performance - on these and similar vehicles. There is no reasonable way to check for issues, so it's proactive preventative maintenance. I think you could live or live without the concern. Some people don't even replace air filters when they're dirty or perform other needed maintenance – and keep driving. And yet those vehicles carry on as well - to some degree.
