What is your question?
The dashboard gauge said I had 20% oil. I checked the oil dipstick and the oil was full. The oil was between the 2 dot LS on the oil dip stick. What does the 20% mean?

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. Thanks for asking this question - it's a good one to share for everyone who may be wondering the same thing. "20%" means only that the oil should be changed soon. It's not an indication of oil level. It means that the "life" of the engine oil is in its last 20%. Honda would suggest this minder system is sufficient, going off of an algorithm of engine revolutions, mileage and time. I would suggest to you that 6 months or 5,000 miles is the best interval to consider changing your engine oil and filter. Or, if you are a low mile driver, no longer than one year. It's a tiny investment to long term benefit. The "minder" system suggestion oil life percentage is absolultely not scientific in nature and reflects no real data.
