What is your question?
I have a Honda CRV 2014, I had the VTC actuator changed 6 months ago following a rattling sound at cold start up. Noise came back just recently. Now I am told that timing chain has to be changed. Mechanic also said that there was almost no oil left and that engine might need to be change if it keeps on burning oil. Could these problems be all related, I'm not sure what to do and what to believe. Thanks for the help or advices !

Hello, I have seen older vintages of CR-V's have this concern -- with a stretched timing chain resulting from a lack of sufficient lubrication over a sustained period of time. I can't say I've seen a 2014 do it. But, I suppose it is possible. How many miles does your CR-V have? Since you have very low oil level and a verified rattle noise, I'd say at the very least tear down is needed.
Hi, mileage is around 75000 miles. It runs really well despite that rattling sound at startup. I'm waiting for engine replacement estimate from the dealer. Thanks
