Anytime I back up in reverse the 2012 2 wheel CRV makes a whining noise.when I put it in Drive or Park, the noise stops.

Hi, there is no reason to think this is abnormal. If you are really concerned, have a shop near you duplicate your concern and weigh in about it. To me, it's likely normal reverse gear noise. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
