Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your CR-V. If your key fob fell apart and the car won't start, it's likely the immobilizer system isn't recognizing the key properly. The key fob contains a tiny transponder chip that communicates with your vehicle's immobilizer system. If that chip is damaged or is not seated correctly in the fob, the car may not start. First, check that the chip is securely inside the key fob. If it's missing, the vehicle won't recognize the key. Once you've ensured the chip is correctly positioned, try to start the car again. If the transponder is missing or it is in place but the car still won't start, you may need to contact a repair shop nearby to diagnose the issue. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered. Give us a call at 877-913-1554, and we will happily help you out!
