Key will not turn off on on. Wheel is not locked but key is not in off position.

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. First, check to see that your shift lever is fully and completely in the park or neutral position. Park position, with a click, should allow the key to turn back where you can turn the car off and remove it. If the key still doesn't turn even with the shift lever in the park position, then there is probably a problem with the ignition lock cylinder that is not resolvable, and you will need professional help.
