Hello, The throttle position sensor is the portion on the throttle body that connects electronically. When going up a hill, sputtering is often the result of poor fuel pressure or poor rate of flow from the fuel tank to the injectors. You may have a failing fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, or they may be part one single part. Also, you may have exhaust restriction, and this likely be accompanied by a check engine light. If you can test the fuel pressure at the engine, that is a good starting point. Beyond that, diagnostics will be limited by amount of diagnostic knowledge and equipment.
