Twice now my speedometer needle has stuck at 120. I have reset it back to zero by repeatedly turning the key to the off then on position. It moves down about 5 point with each turn.

Ive had the same exact problem with my 04 honda civic have you had any luck fixing it? If so what was it?
Having the same problem with our 2004 Civic. It hangs up about 20 to 30 MPH. "Belynda" posted... turning the ignition on and off repeatedly causes the needle to drop in increments down to zero. I'm working on a diagnosis, but I'm inclined to believe the speedometer, not the VSS sensor is malfunctioning.
It was a stepper motor in the needle. I took out the cluster and sent it away on the bus to a place that fixes speedometers and it is fixed now. If your cluster is a Vistion, it has a stepper motor and can be repaired.
