A good amount for Diagnostic time is 1-2 hours to find the source of the EVAP issue. It can be a defective purge valve, a leaking carbon canister, a defective vent valve, filler neck, fuel cap etc, etc. So, it takes some time to find the leak or to test for the cause of the Check Engine Light code. Then, there is the actual repair. I find that on many Honda CRVs that the Canister Purge Valve is one of the first things that I test. They often don't hold Vacuum well after awhile and will set the Check Engine Light for an EVAP code. I do EVAP Diagnosis and Repair on a daily basis in N Calif. I am a State Licensed Emissions Technician. I hope that this helps.
Thank you, This was very instructive and helpful!!
