My 2014 honda civic's HDMI isnt working when i plug up my phone and it connects instead of mirroring my phone the back up camera comes up

So I plug in my phone to HDMi port I have the adapter, and the cord works. But when my phone connects either 2 things happen screen goes black and it says not connected to anything or the back up camera comes up.

What makes this problem better or worse?
