What is your question?
2012 Honda Civic. Purge valve solenoid was replaced in December. The "tighten gas cap" light started coming on sporadically again in May. There is no other OBD fault code to go with the TGC light. We've replaced the gas cap (with OEM) and the TGC light came on again yesterday. Is it worth it / advisable to pay for a diagnostic check now or just wait until there is an OBD fault code to go on?

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. If there is a check engine light - or "tighten gas cap" light coming on, there most certainly must be a trouble code to go with it. What testing has actually been performed? Is there an evaporative emissions static leak test being performed? There clearly must be at least a small leak somewhere - and even a smoke vapor test could find this leak if utilized. As a result, I would not suggest waiting as there are avenues to explore in diagnostic testing. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link to find some shops near you who can help out!
