What is your question?
I'm in need of a new set of tires for a 2012 civic lx coupe. The tires for this car are 195/65/15, but a friend has a set of 185/65/15 and said it would work on my car, but would make the speedometer off by a mph, which I would be fine with. Just wondering if this is doable because tires can be pricey. Thank you!

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Nothing makes you feel like more of an adult than having to buy tires. It's totally possible to use 185/65/15 tires instead of the recommended 195/65/15 tires but there are some considerations. The smaller size will affect your speedometer accuracy and may slightly impact handling and ground clearance. Deviating from the manufacturer's recommended tire size is generally not recommended, as it can affect vehicle performance and safety. Tires can be expensive so consider shopping around for deals or looking for reputable budget tire brands in the correct size. There are some great inexpensive brands out there! Your safety on the road is worth the investment. If you have any other questions feel free to call us at 877-913-1554! We'll gladly find you a certified RepairPal shop in your area!
