What is your question?
I looked up an ignition switch replacement for the whole assembly. For my car year and make Honda Civic 2005. Your site said max 322 but when I had my car towed to Kerry’s car care a recommendation from your website they quoted me 710$. That without the 164$ for the diagnostic to just tell me I needed it replaced when I knew that already. When I told them the quote they said it was only the lock tumbler that’s quoted on your site. Your site is gauge on that I guess but I feel the price is outrageous especially knowing how much the part by itself is. $60 that means $650 is for labor. Not happy with your website or the mechanic that your site recommendation. So who is wrong you or them? Or me for trusting your website to be accurate and trusting them for honoring your quote.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It’s worse when the price quoted was doubled by the mechanic
How long has your 2005 Honda Civic had this problem?
Today when I looked to your site for help

From what I can tell, the "Estimator" tool offers a range of pricing for repair of a component. It won't include "diagnostic charges". And, it will vary depending on the actual need, grade of parts used, and repair shop labor rates. The Estimator should be used as a tool for guidance of what to expect. It's still the responsibility of the consumer to obtain a real-world quote from a repair facility -- even if found via RepairPal -- as no one is "binding" to "comply" with pricing estimated on the Estimator too. The Estimator is a starting point to get a sense of what to expect. You should always obtain a quote, understand it and make a good decision before proceeding with any work. Hope this helps.
