The open back window light comes on on my dash but the back window is not open.

The red open window light on my dash flashes on and off continually. I had to switch the rear trunk light off to keep the light from being on continually. I can unlock the car with my key button but I must lock the car with the key on the driver side to lock the car.

It could be a miss adjusted or defective back window switch that notifies the computer whether the back window is closed or open. Does the rear window/hatch close nice and snug or is there any play? If there is play then it needs to be adjusted.
