What is your question?
I replaced a power steering return hose and reservoir cap, but my steering wheel still has hard time turning. It's not making a whining noise anymore. It's leaking from the reservoir bottle
How long has your 2000 Honda Civic had this problem?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. If your Civic's steering wheel is hard to turn after replacing the power steering return hose and reservoir cap, it sounds like there might still be an issue with the power steering system. The first thing I would recommend is to ensure all air has been purged from the system after the repair. When the engine is running, take a peak in the reservoir to ensure you don't see bubbles or foam and that there seems to be sufficient flow of fluid. Additionally, the leak could be causing a loss of fluid, which would make steering difficult. It's important to ensure all connections are secure and that the reservoir itself isn't cracked. Hi, you mention the existence of an ongoing leak - that's my biggest concern. Have you determined where the leak is originating from? Power steering return hose is not a component that's under pressure and would not influence steering effort. Even a leak from the reservoir bottle will not cause a loss of steering effort. This is why I think it's important to have a professional evaluate and weigh in. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
