What is your question?
Just bought the car. I knew it had transmission problems but I'm trying to diagnose them. When drive in d4 you can feel when it's about to switch gears and it switches kind of hard but if you ease off the gas a little bit when it does that it'll go into great no problem. The person that sold it to me bought it from another person who had the whole engine rebuilt, and it looks pretty by the way, but I don't know about the transmission and he said the solenoids have all been replaced all but one, the pressure control solenoid. The part is more than 300 dollars but he bought it from Amazon for 25. It and the one that was on the car are reading 5 or 6 ohms. What should it read?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Replaced fluid with z1 Qual, ease gas when gear change
How long has your 1999 Honda Civic had this problem?
Not sure

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Civic. The P0730 code indicates an incorrect gear ratio, often pointing to internal transmission problems or solenoids or fluid pressure issues. For the pressure control solenoid, a normal reading should generally fall between 14 and 25 ohms. If you're getting 5-6 ohms, that indicates a possible failure within the solenoid, which could cause your shifting issues. Given the symptoms, ensure you also use Honda-approved transmission fluid like ATF-Z1 or DW-1, as incorrect fluid can exacerbate shifting problems. Since you've recently replaced the fluid, ensure it's at the correct level with the vehicle warmed up and on level ground. If the solenoid checks out but you still have hard shifts or slippage, the issue could be internal transmission wear or a failing clutch pack. A transmission shop can test line pressure and diagnose further if needed.
