The computer in your car takes a look and looks that all sensors are in place and the circuits are ok, sensors have continuity through the circuits and winding of each switch or circuit, when the engine is running the computer tests their functionality and when certain criteria is met the computer tests the EGR, Emission Control System, and cat converter system. It is likely easy determine what is wrong with your car by plugging in a scan tool to the diagnostic port under the dash of your car and seeing what trouble code is stored. It is likely to be a sensor or wiring failure as opposed to an evap or cat converter low efficiency code.
ckeck out the code first, and you can use the jp701 to check out it... http://chinasinoy.com/wholesale/maxiscan-jp701-code-scanner-reader.html
thanks for taking your time...I will. Lily
Finally find a smart mechanic..what a headache! The problem was with the throttle, was not opening like it was suppose, or too much air or not enough and he adjust a pin where the throttle is, took it off and a adjust a little bolt in the idle control valve. I really appreciate Patrick taking your time with me . God bless you. lily
