What is your question?
Car was running fine. I shut it off and had to dettach a wire that has been straight wired for my cooling fan. When I tried to close hood my hood latch was messed up. I didn't know and I slammed it real hard. My car will turn over but won't start. Could it be my crankshaft sensor? Or what could it be? I am a little car knowledgeable so I have checked for lose connections. I saw where my distributor cap wasn't snug so I replaced the bolts. Also my boyfriend turned over the ignition when I had the distributor cap off. Could that be a problem? Help. I'm on a fixed income and I have to do it myself. Its been a year and now I'm desperate.
How long has your 1998 Honda Civic had this problem?

Hello, I feel for you, but there's simply not much to be suggested without a hands on analysis of your vehicle. There appears to be too many variables -- things you have mentioned; modifications -- why a "straight wire" for your cooling fan? I do not suspect your crankshaft sensor is a concern. This vehicle is OBD II -- so you should be able to check for any diagnostic trouble codes that may be set. This might give you clues for a direction to go into. As always, when checking for starting concerns, you have to verify fuel pressure and delivery, ignition spark, ignition timing and proper air intake. Good luck.
