My 98 Honda Civic needs a new water pump. I was getting it replaced later this week, but before I could get it fixed it overheated last night and now won't start. Do you think that I could have a problem other than having to replace my whole engine?

Overheating an engine is sorta like crashing. You don't really know what's wrong or what it'll take to fix it until an experienced technician checks it out. It's possible the engine is a total loss or it could be fixed, or a replacement engine is in order. Only the experienced eye can tell.
