What is your question?
1993 Honda Civic del Sol. Mine since new. Won’t start. No sound. No click, nothing. Initial mechanic theory is that the stock security “key” type thing (ignition kill switch) is cause of problem. Sometimes if you put it in upside down car starts. Also heat seems to make problem worse. Mechanic said something to do with solenoid was melted. He says he can bypass this kill-switch setup and make problem go away (allegedly). Wondering why it can’t be fixed?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Heat maybe.
How long has your 1993 Honda Civic del Sol had this problem?
a few weeks

VERY STRONGLY recommend having another - maybe more experienced “mechanic” check this out for there is absolutely no reason it can not be repaired correctly.. I don’t quite understand the “upside down” key trick as the key is cut on both sides so it should work either way. Personally I wouldn’t try to defeat any of the vehicle safety features as that tends to creamier problems. The ignition starter switch needs to be tested as well as the remaining starter system circuitry - by qualified personnel.
