What is your question?
2012 Honda Accord, automatic, V6, 107k miles My Drive (D) gear indicator started blinking with no check engine light on. Computer is giving code P0741. I notice when driving at constant speed and grade that RPMs will dip and come back up as it appears the TCC engages/disengages sporadically. I have not noticed clunky shifting, the vehicle has never stalled, and the indicator only blinks if I get up to and maintain highway speeds for a while, although the RPMs will fluctuate even at lower speeds. I took it to a transmission specialist, and he scanned for codes and took it on a test drive; he said it could be either the TCC solenoid, the TCC itself, or some other problem with the whole transmission. Is it safe to drive the car for short distances as long as I keep the indicator from coming on? Do I risk making the issue worse? How much should I expect to pay for solenoid/TCC/rebuild?
What makes this problem better or worse?
driving at low speeds keeps the indicator from coming on, but the RPMs still shift
How long has your 2012 Honda Accord had this problem?
a week

Hello - "safe" is a touch question to answer; likely - yes. The TCC and related components failing will affect engagement of the torque converter properly at speeds above 30 miles per hour. I would not approach your TCC or torque converter at this age and likely mileage; a used or remanufactured transmission is the best resolution going forward. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
