My driver's side window controls have been broken for some time now (maybe a year). Can still unlock, adjust mirrors, but the window switches are broke. About a month ago when I manually unlocked my car it caused all my windows to roll down about an inch. Got all back up using their respective window switches but driver's one wouldn't go up. Then this past weekend when turning key in ignition the driver's side window went down a couple more inches and the rear driver's side went all the way down. Upon googling found the key fob trick to rolling down/up windows. ALL windows rolled all the way down. All but driver's window rolled back up. So now driver's side is all the way down. Also NONE of the window switches work to roll down/up windows, can only use the key fob trick. I don't care if the windows are stuck as long as they are stuck in the UP position. Suggestions on how to get my driver's side window up?

Hi this is Dusty, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team. That's a frustrating issue for sure, and it seems like there are a few possibilities: The main window control switch The Driver's window motor The Driver's Side MICU (body control module) Or a combination of the three has failed, resulting in the window failing to move. As for manually forcing the glass to move you could try the following: Opening the door, Have a second person attempt the key trick to get the window to move a bit If the key trick will not work with the door open, grab a small screwdriver or pick and latch the lock manually, then just remember to unlock the door before attempting to close it. If or when the glass comes up reach around the door frame with a hand on each side of the glass (palms flat if possible) and try to assist the glass upwards. If it only moves a bit at a time, let it sit for a few, and try again. This might take a couple of attempts, patience is key.
