Are you sure it is the Check Engine light? It should come on with the ignition turned on, go out when the engine starts, come on and stay on if the computer sees a fault (and stay on if the fault remains present). If the light constantly flashes there is a serious emission fault, but it would stay flashing. Look in your owner's manual.
