High Oil consumption at 289000 miles. was a qt between oil changes, now too much.
Over 6 months ago I got a ck engine light saying not enough air was going through the egr system. I started cleaning out the egr system. Firth the valve, then the throttle body, changed the intake manifold with another, removed from another car, cleaned good by hand, cleaned the plate and area. replaced PCV valve for the second time, Sea formed the intake at-lease twice. Did a major clean up...I think.
One week-end I drove for about 95 miles (checked and filled up the oil system) from home one way and back, totaling about 180 miles. checked the oil and I was a Qt low. Where did my oil go. Now I am thinking if replacing the motor or buying a younger car. Should I or can this be fixed?
What makes this problem better or worse?
I guess the way I drive. 80-85 mph when on I95 or other long roads
How long has your 2006 Honda Accord had this problem?
I always lost oil because of high miles (1 to 2 Qts between 3000 mile oil changes) acording to the book. Then things changed.
