What is your question?
The AC fast cycles (on/off). Pressure check using a 'topping off' kit indicates pressure is normal. I can see the switch thru the grill but haven't found any video or instructions on how to access and replace the pressure switch. Given it does blow cold when on and the relay is newly replaced, is my hunch good that the pressure switch is faulty? Is there a builtin valve that allows one to unscrew the switch w/o any loss of refrigerant?

Hi, this is Bo an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Ah, it's that time of year again! Beach trips, picnics, and failing air conditioning. The pressure switch may be faulty, causing the AC compressor to cycle rapidly. But not necessarily. Unfortunately, most pressure switches don't have a built-in valve to prevent refrigerant loss when removed. It's crucial to have the refrigerant properly evacuated before removing the switch to avoid releasing it into the atmosphere. Evacuating and recharging the system requires a pretty sophisticated machine so getting a shop to do the dirty work might be a good idea. Also, don't always trust those "top-off" kits. It really could just be slightly low on refrigerant. But to answer your question: to access and replace the pressure switch, you typically need to remove the front bumper and grille to gain access to the switch. However, it's essential to confirm the diagnosis before replacing the switch. A faulty switch could indeed cause the symptoms you're experiencing, but other issues such as low refrigerant levels or a problem with the A/C compressor clutch could also be to blame.
