What is your question?
Does the Accord use the same Airbag Sensor that is failing in Honda Civics and being repaired under recall? The light comes on intermittently. Understand that both automatic seatbelt tightening and airbags are disabled by this malfunctioning sensor. Found that I can drive the car with very gentle braking and it does not illuminate. My wife, though, just pointed out that you usually brake hard before impact if you get in an accident of the type that you would want the airbag to deploy and the seat belts to tighten.

Hello, I operate a Honda dealership parts and service department (quite close to where you live, actually). I can tell you that I am entirely unaware of any "recall" that repairs any "air bag sensors". I am also unaware of any "recall" that will address a restraint system warning light coming on. That said, please go to this web site to check for any open recalls on your Accord -- http://owners.honda.com/service-maintenance/recalls You will need your vehicle identification number (VIN) to enter there. Your Accord would have had the Air Bag Inflator recalls on it most likely -- have you had them replaced yet? This is unrelated to your warning light, but it is a critical necessary repair that is "life and death", especially on a 2001-2003 model Honda Accord. Back to your described issue -- are you speaking of the red air bag light around the speedometer? Your vehicle also has a passenger air bag deactivation system (as required for all vehicles) that uses sensors in the passenger seat designed to disable the passenger frontal air bag in case a child is sitting in the front seat. If the passenger sitting in the front right seat is not very big or weighs under 100 pounds even, movement in the seat while driving can cause the light to come on that shows that the passenger air bag is deactivated. It is very hard to say without an understanding of what you are experiencing. A hands on inspection would be required.
